Ambient Home Services
For capital partners

Two engines. One people-first operating model.

Residential HVAC is durable, fragmented, and structurally undermanaged. We're consolidating it. Margin expands when the back-office centralizes. Revenue per technician compounds when modern tools, resources, and education reach the people doing the work. Our thesis is below.

Thesis

The market, the model, the math.

  1. 01

    The market

Residential HVAC sits at the intersection of structural tailwinds: aging housing stock, a long electrification cycle, regulatory shifts toward heat pumps. The installed base has to be replaced regardless of economic conditions. Demand is durable. Supply is fragmented: tens of thousands of owner-operated companies across the country, most under $10M in revenue, many run by founders approaching retirement.

  2. 02

    The model

Ambient is a consolidation, done with operators in front. We acquire owner-operated HVAC companies and run them as one connected business. Each center keeps its name, its team, and its place in its community. The economics improve because the back-office stops being many small back-offices and becomes one network back-office. Dispatch, finance, recruiting, marketing, equipment purchasing, and training all centralize. Fixed costs each center used to carry alone are amortized across the network. Every center keeps more of every dollar earned.

  3. 03

    The math

The second engine is technology applied to exceptional talent. The technicians and dispatchers inside the companies we partner with are already exceptional. What most of them have lacked is modern dispatch, route optimization, customer-communications systems, and continuing-education infrastructure. Give them better tools, better resources, and better education, and the same team handles more jobs in a day. Fewer callbacks. More upgrades closed. Higher earnings for the technician, more revenue for the company. Revenue per technician compounds without hiring more technicians. People-first is the mechanism that makes the math work: better tools attract better people, better people retain customers, and the unit economics improve on both axes.

Our approach

Five operating principles.

How the model actually runs. The mechanics behind both engines, in five.

  1. 01

    Centralize the back-office.

Dispatch, finance, recruiting, marketing, equipment purchasing, training. Fixed costs every shop used to carry alone are amortized across the network. Margin expands at the consolidated entity while every center keeps the operating freedom that earned its customers.

  2. 02

    Equip the talent.

Modern dispatch, scheduling, route optimization, customer communications, continuing education. The same team handles more jobs in a day with fewer callbacks and more upgrades closed. Revenue per technician compounds without hiring more technicians.

  3. 03

    Keep local identity.

Each center keeps its name, team, branding, and customer relationships. The thing that earned the trust stays in front of the customer. Consolidation happens behind the scenes, where the customer never has to feel it.

  4. 04

    Operator-led decisions.

Run by people who have run service companies, not just modeled them. Capital backs the operating team. Every center gets the support a single shop could never afford alone.

  5. 05

Sub-$5M, anywhere in the United States.

Owner-operated companies under $5M in revenue, in any state. The fragmentation of this market is the opportunity. The right team matters more than the right ZIP code.

What we look for
We're looking for capital partners who see the math the way we do. Margin expansion through a centralized back-office on one side, revenue per technician through technology and training on the other, and people-first as the mechanism that makes both possible. Long-term horizons. Operator-led decisions. Real homes, real families, real people doing real work.
